Kenny Moten is an award-winning director, writer AND VOCALIST. Kenny began his career in the world of musical theater but his true passion lies in working behind the scenes.
After years of performing onstage, Kenny became the Artistic Director of Midtown Arts Center in Fort Collins, Colorado. From there, he shifted into creative leadership at Snooze A.M. Eatery, where he developed and implemented the company’s first comprehensive training program. He went on to serve as Creative Director for Imprint Group, one of the nation’s leading corporate event production companies, before founding his own firm—Narrative Creative Consulting—in 2016. He currently serves as Associate Artistic Director at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities.
Kenny’s storytelling work spans industries. He has created for a wide range of clients including Google, Netflix, Western Union, Atlassian Software, Smartwool, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and the Arvada Center. He is a two-time winner of the International Special Event Award for “Best Theatrical Production” for his work on National Jewish Health’s Beaux Arts Ball.
As a director, Kenny’s credits include: Clybourne Park and Cinderella (Arvada Center), Caroline, or Change (Aurora Fox), Miss Rhythm: The Legend of Ruth Brown (Stages Houston), Beauty and the Beast (American Stage), Dreamgirls and Take to the Highway (Lone Tree Arts Center), Fiddler on the Roof (BDT Stage), Murder on the Orient Express (Candlelight), 42nd Street (Midtown Arts Center), and Motones & Jerseys: In Concert (National Tour). He is also the co-writer and co-director of The Bright Lights of Denver (DCPA Off-Center) and co-creator of The Bright Lights of Denver podcast, available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Kenny believes that creative storytelling unites the human experience. Whether on stage, in a restaurant, or at an event, he sees every project as an opportunity to craft meaningful, detail-driven moments that leave a lasting impression. He continues to collaborate with a wide spectrum of organizations and is regarded as a force in the creative community.
